Review shots and export

Review turns search candidates into an editing decision. Open the actual footage before exporting, check its source and range, and choose the output that fits your next step. ShotAI can export individual video clips or a simple timeline that references source material.

Review and select

Open a result and use the available playback, frame navigation, and shot navigation controls to inspect it. Check the picture against the brief rather than relying only on its AI summary or relevance score.

Select the shots you want to use. The Selected Shots panel lists chosen shots by source video, including their full start and end ranges. Remove unwanted entries and check the combined duration. You can review and reorder entries for export.

Selections here are whole detected shots. If you need only a few seconds from a longer shot, refine that range in your editor. Keep named project notes and approval decisions in your existing workflow instead of relying on the current selection to save them.

Choose Video File for separate clips

Open the export dialog and select Video File. The available presets include Quick export, Editing software, High quality master, and Social platform. Open Advanced settings when you need to inspect the container, codec, resolution, quality, or frame rate.

Check these values for every output. In version 1.2.0, the video presets use 30 fps by default; selecting a high-quality preset does not automatically preserve the source frame rate. The interface offers manual frame-rate choices including 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94, and 60 fps.

Choose the destination and export. Open the resulting file to check picture, sound, dimensions, and duration. MP4 and MOV are output containers; a successful export does not by itself prove that all source audio tracks, color information, or original encoding were preserved.

Choose Timeline for an editing handoff

The Timeline option offers these formats:

Choose the appropriate format, inspect the selected order, and save to a location you can find from your editor. Keep the original media accessible at its existing path.

A basic FCP7 XML video timeline has been checked in DaVinci Resolve. For version 1.2.0, audio and fractional or mixed frame-rate handling need particular attention: the checked FCP7 handoff did not include audio clips and used a 30 fps sequence. Confirm and, where needed, rebuild audio and sequence settings in your editor before continuing. Other destination-format combinations require their own import check.

Verify the handoff

Open the output in the destination application. Confirm source links, clip order, duration, frame rate, picture, and sound. Timeline creation is not a guarantee of a finished edit or full camera metadata transfer.

If an export reports a missing source, restore access to the original location before retrying. A cached search result cannot replace the original file. See Troubleshooting for that case.
